Mackage

This past Christmas I bought myself a nice jacket.  I had originally wanted this one by Helmet Lang, but after trying it on, I knew it WASN'T FOR ME. It was gorgeous, but somehow I felt ODD walking around with HAIR ON MY BACK. Well, on the back of the coat that is...

So, after returning it - I decided to walk over to Mackage in Soho after church & BAM!!! There it was, the perfect jacket. If you scroll down, you'll see it in black, but I'm actually wearing the camel- colored style in the picture. The fit is awesome - and although it won't be warm enough for the freezing cold winter weather, it will be perfect for fall. Also, I saved a ton of money.

Mackage is currently one of my favorite go to brands for coats. It's a luxury brand offering trenches, coats & downs for both women & men. If you're visiting NYC or you live here - you have to hit the store, it's a gorgeous minimalist looking boutique situated in SOHO.

So, what do you think? Is Mackage a brand you could easily get into??

See you Monday!

Jordan Carlyle's Apartment Tour

Back in July I wrote about Interior designer Jordan Carlyle - here & his NYC apartment. He recently moved to a bigger apartment & wanted to share it with my readers. It's all designed by him & it's double the size of his previous place....in NYC, that is TRULY a blessing.

It seems this time around he's incorporated more grays throughout, don't you think?

My favorite room in his place is the office -it's just an extra room in his apartment, but feels & looks like a REAL office space. That's what I hope to achieve with my own home office. I also love the way he used the space by the window & made it a window seating area - so gorgeous & great use of space!

So bright, yet still serene - LOVE!

BITS OF MY WEEK

The latest design book by Nate Berkus, "The Things that Matter" - it is sooo good! You can get yours here!

Below - one of the commissioned paintings I did this past weekend.
See more at Cocoa & Hearts.

Trying to get some sleep. As you can see our white sofa is kept mostly covered, since our Darla recently started getting on it.

No, that isn't my church. I just loved the way they honored these guys...

if you haven't tried this, you must - break several pieces of dark chocolate into your oatmeal & let it melt with the heat - delicious! I like to use Mast Brothers Chocolate.

As we were walking we saw this kid's bike tied & locked to a railing in the city- too cute.

stumptown coffee- one of my faves now...

the new Verismo machine by Starbucks -makes Starbucks style coffee!
